Cancer Cases Prompt Eye Exams

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – An important health alert: the North Carolina Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons is encouraging the Huntersville community, and specifically, current and past students and staff at Hopewell High School, to get their eyes examined.

Several people who lived in that area or went to Hopewell have been diagnosed with a rare eye cancer. If you have concerns, you can contact your family eye care provider or, Horizon Eye Care in Huntersville for a free, one time exam (no prescriptions, optical or medical. There is no confirmed link between the cancer cases and Hopewell, but medical professionals are encouraging the exam.
