Gaston County Police Make Numerous Arrests to Crack Down on Heroin
GASTONIA N.C. — Officers with the Gaston County Police conducted a large arrest round-up of individuals associated with selling and distributing heroin in the area, according to a news release. The round-up, titled Operation Dirty Needle, also involved the help of U.S. Marshals, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, State Bureau of Investigation, and Dallas Police Department and came after a two year investigation.
Those arrested in the operation included Andrew Junior Lane, Robert Lee Hearn, Gabriel Robinson, Phillip Nathanial Kos, Stephanie Ann Steen, James Franklin Farris, Karen Darlene Horne Slagle, Emily Jacqueline Jenkins, Gary Payne, Samuel Hargett, Timothy Larkin Landers, James Anthony Royall.
Offenders Gregory Bagwell and Harvey Jenkins were reportedly already in custody when the operation took place and officers are still in search of Crystal Dawn Murphy, Shelby Diane Putnam, and Cody Bumgardner.
Of the offenders who were apprehended, Landers and Royall are facing additional charges for the possession of heroin at the time of their arrest.
