Suspect Arrested In Fatal Steele Creek Shooting

UPDATE: Police have arrested 27-year-old Robert Driver in connection to a shooting that left one dead and two injured.

According to CMPD, Driver was arrested Monday on unrelated charges, and was then served warrants related to the shooting. Officials say Driver is charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with the Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, Attempted Robbery and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

This investigation is ongoing.

CHARLOTTE, N.C.  — One person is dead and two others injured after a shooting in southwest Charlotte Friday night.

According to reports, CMPD officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at about 10:00 p.m.

Arriving officers discovered two people with gunshot wounds in the 2400 block of Yorkdale Drive.  A third victim fled the scene and was found in the 7100 block of Spring Creek Lane.

All three victims were transported to Carolinas Medical Center and treated for their injuries.

Bryan Ja’Quan Thompson, 22, died, at CMC, as a result of his injuries.
