Deputies Discover Meth Lab During Domestic Violence Call

MOORESVILLE, NC — Deputies arrested a 33-year-old man on multiple drug charges and simple assault after responding to a domestic violence call Friday.

Jonathan Massey was arrested and charged with Felony Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Felony Possession of Methamphetamine Precursors, Felony Maintain a Dwelling or Place to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Simple Assault.

Officials say they were called to Massey’s home on Regency Road for domestic violence. Massey had already taken off, but officials say they located the victim and later discovered that a possible meth lab existed on the property. After a brief search, deputies say they found enough evidence to gain a search warrant for the property.

In an outbuilding, investigators say they found multiple containers and other materials used to make methamphetamine, as well as a small amount of meth.

Officials say they also discovered Massey has a lengthy criminal history. According to reports, Massey has been convicted on numerous charges including, but not limited to, assault on a female, DWI, assault by pointing a gun, communicating threats, breaking and entering, resisting arrest, possession of stolen goods, and multiple drug related crimes.

Massey was eventually located and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was placed under a $150,000 secured bond.
