Dad Charged In 2016 Chokehold Death Of Daughter’s Boyfriend Enters Plea
CHARLOTTE, NC — A dad charged with Voluntary Manslaughter in the death of his daughter’s boyfriend pleaded guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter Thursday.
In May 2016, officers charged 60-year-old Parker Bogan after his daughter’s boyfriend, 37-year-old Patrick Creek, was found dead inside his home on Cattail Court. According to reports, Creek was attempting to physically assault his girlfriend, Bogan’s daughter, at the home and Bogan intervened.
Bogan put Creek in a chokehold, police say, but Creek died from his injuries.
Officials say Bogan will not serve any time in prison following his plea, but will be placed on two years probation.
