Teaching Future Teachers Is The Idea Behind New CMS Program At UNCC
CHARLOTTE, NC — A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools program at UNC Charlotte is working to teach future teachers.
Superintendent Clayton Wilcox welcomed the first 55 students enrolled in the Charlotte Teacher Early College. They’ll attend specially designed classes for the next five years, and graduate with a high school diploma and 60 hours college credit.
The program is the first of its kind in North Carolina and one of only a hand-full in the country.
