AdoptaPlatoon also serves injured troops through the AAP Walking Wounded Project and assists military veterans, who remain our nation’s heroes though their active service has ended.

Heartillery Group
heartillerygroup.com
Heartillery Group’s mission is to show support, love and gratitude to our troops overseas in simple ways.

Inspired by a 2013 Christmas Card Drive, the Heartillery Group mailed over 15,000 cards in time for our soldiers to receive them on Christmas Day. The project was started and organized by Emily Spencer. Only after 3 months after her wedding, Emily’s husband, Scott, was deployed to Afghanistan for 13+ months. During that time, she has led her own active role with the military community in Norwood, MA and continues to share her mission.

Hugs for Soldiers
hugsforsoldiers.org
Founded in 2003, Hugs for Soldiers is a ministry of Duluth First United Methodist Church in Duluth, GA.  Our program is dedicated to offering comforts from home and brightening a soldier’s day with a care package, card or letter of encouragement. Our “adopted” troops, who are deployed thousands of miles away from home, need to be reassured that America cares about them. We provide love and support for our nation’s military who make daily sacrifices for the freedom America enjoys.

Letters to the Troops (Flags Across the Nation)
flagsacrossthenation.org

Flags Across The Nation continues to make a patriotic difference 16 years after the events of 9/11/2001. As a volunteer-run organization, we promote patriotism through the arts. Our projects foster love of the United States of America, respect for the American flag and support for our troops, wounded warriors, recovering soldiers and veterans. We welcome your participation to make a patriotic difference by writing letters to troops and veterans, creating Blankets for Recovery, purchasing veteran art and joining us to promote patriotism through the arts.

Molly’s Adopt A Sailor
mollysadoptasailor.com
In March of 2008 when Molly’s son graduated from Navy Boot Camp in Great Lakes, IL, he told her that there were guys at boot camp that never received any mail during the entire time they were there.  She went back to her hometown and coincidentally, a co-worker had a nephew leaving for Navy Boot Camp, and she asked if she could write to him.  She asked that recruit to pass on letters to recruits not getting any mail.  The next thing she knew, she had three recruits writing to her. She continued to correspond with them, and she asked those recruits to pass her information on to other recruits.  As the founding members of Molly’s Adopt A Sailor became more indoctrinated into all things military, they learned that not all of our troops were receiving the love and support from home that they so richly deserved.  This group decided to make it their mission to change that.

Operation Post Card (Blue Star Moms)

Support Our Soldiers’ Letters from Home Campaign
supportoursoldier.com

Support Our Soldiers (SOS) is a military support nonprofit organization based in Fort Worth, Texas. Founded in July 2011, the organization’s mission is to connect the community and military together by sending custom care boxes, supplies, and letters of support to soldiers deployed overseas so that they know they are loved and not forgotten. Support Our Soldiers is different from other groups in that they are in direct contact with the soldiers so they can tell us exactly what they need. This allows the organization to offer them help they most often would not be able to get any other way.

WCCB and our sponsors, Brothers Heating Cooling & Plumbing and Keffer Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, thank you for supporting the U.S. military this holiday season.
