Snow being reported from Austin to Houston, Central LA through MS, AL and northern GA this morning. An accumulation has been noted throughout the high country, and we’re beginning to see that transition from cold rain to snow for the foothills. A cold rain for the Piedmont, today. Potential to transition to snow later this evening. Accumulation for areas south of I-40 not likely. But, a light coating for cars, grass, etc., will be possible. Highs struggling to get into the lower 40s. Snow/Rain will taper off by early Saturday morning. Another cold day, as the sunshine returns late afternoon. Highs in the lower 40s. Freezing night with lows bottoming out in the mid 20s.
Cold, but dry start to the next work week. Below average temps expected through the next week. Looks like it’s finally time to keep the winter gear out for good.
