A Mother’s Motive: Questions About Kim Jones

TENNESSEE – A twist in the story of the Tennessee boy seen crying about being bullied in a now-viral video his mom posted on Facebook. Celebrities rallied around 11-year-old Keaton Jones, but now there are questions about his mom’s motive in posting the video. And, what appears to be his mom’s previous social media posts are also problematic.

In the video, Kimberly Jones is heard asking her son, in part, “What did they say to you?” Keaton replies, “They make fun of my nose, they call me ugly, they say I have no friends.” Kim says, “What did they do you at lunch?” Keaton replies, “Pour milk on me, put a hand down my clothes, threw bread at me.” Kim says, “Is it just you?” Keaton replies, “Yup.”

So. The twist. MMA fighter Joe Schilling says he reached out to Kim Jones and offered to bring Keaton to a show. But Schilling says Jones “just wants money” and asked him to retweet a link to a (now frozen) GoFundMe account instead. And there’s an August Facebook post. About two weeks after the Charlottesville “Unite the Right” event, someone under a Kim Jones account posted about “butt hurt Americans” and loving of the Confederate flag.

Does the new information about Kim Jones change your first feelings about her son’s tearful bullying video?
