US Attorney General Jeff Sessions Announces Violent Crime Task Force In Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte is getting a Violent Crimes Task Force due to growing concerns about the rising crime rate throughout the city.

US Attorney General Jeff Sessions joined Andrew Murray, the new DA for the Western District of NC, today for the announcement in Uptown. The task force will include federal, state, and local law enforcement.

It will NOT focus on gangs, as that is covered by the FBI. Instead, it will focus on carjackings, bank robberies, kidnappings, and extortion. Sessions didn’t take any questions from reporters during the event, but did tell law enforcement officials that police are not the problem… they are the solution.
