Cam Says He Was ‘Disgruntled’ To Learn About Plans To Sell The Panthers

We’re hearing from Cam Newton for the first time since Panthers owner Jerry Richardson announced he was selling the team.
The Panthers quarterback says he was ‘disgruntled’ to learn about Richardson’s plan.
Newton was one of the team leaders who met with Richardson before his announcement Sunday.
Cam was asked about the NFL’s investigation into alleged workplace misconduct during a press conference Wednesday afternoon.
He said he still thinks highly of Jerry Richardson and is waiting for all the facts before passing judgment.
Cam also compared Richardson’s case to the pay-to-play allegations he faced in college.

“I basically almost got an NCAA, almost been suspended, just off an allegation. That’s how I feel about it.” Newton added, “Not comparing apples to apples. It’s still something somebody said that, and when I went through my allegations, it was all false.”
