CMPD Explorers Deliver Gifts To Local Families

CHARLOTTE, NC — Christmas came early Thursday for some families around Charlotte.

Members of the CMPD Explorers Program delivered gifts to hundreds of people as part of the group’s annual Christmas project. People donated enough toys for 1,500 children this Christmas season.

This is the 43rd year of the project and Chief Kerr Putney says it’s a special tradition for the officers.

Anyone wishing to give back this holiday season can still do so. The Salvation Army is accepting donations until Christmas day.
