CHARLOTTE, NC — The season of giving isn’t quite over for NASCAR fans. Dedicated fans camped out at the NASCAR Hall of Fame to grab a gift at the “Undeck the Hall” event Tuesday morning.
NASCAR puts gifts like autographed souvenirs, race tickets, and miniature cars on trees and allows fans to take their pick. Two men from Denver waited 12 hours, hoping for Talladega tickets.
“I’m looking for tickets myself,” said Denver resident John Carpenter. “I’d like to get tickets to a Talladega race. I’d also like to get some Dale Earnhardt, Jr. memorabilia. I’ve been a fan for a long time, and it’s his last year.”
This was the 8th annual “Undeck the Hall” event. The Hall of Fame stayed open until all the gifts were gone.
