Bitter Cold Across Carolinas; Snow in Eastern Counties

CHARLOTTE, NC – We are tracking extreme cold, with temperatures dropping into the teens overnight.

Parts of our viewing area could see a light dusting of snow over the next 24 hours. People in Anson, Richmond, and Chesterfield counties are preparing for possible snow late Wednesday into Thursday.

“First thing that comes to mind is student safety,” explains Anson County Schools Superintendent Michael Freeman.

He says staff will be monitoring conditions as the day progresses Wednesday.

If it begins to snow, he plans to err on the side of caution.

“I’d rather over react than underreact and put a child in a situation that is unsafe, that I might could avoid,” he explains.
