Benefit Ride Will Help Build Classrooms in Cameroon

Imagine what your life would be like without any education. What if you had to tell your children the only future they had to look forward to would be locked in poverty and a daily struggle to survive? How would you feel?
You would feel just like the millions of parents throughout the world who have no choice but to tell their children this hard truth because they have no way to offer them more. We know that access to education provides hope for the future. We consider it a necessity for our families, but even the most basic school experience is just a dream for too many families throughout the world.
Trust and Obey Ministries serves families in Cameroon, a small country about the size of California on the western coast of Africa. The children we serve have no reasonable expectation of escaping the same lives their parents have led, unless we help. Our ministry is committed to opening a way to make dreams come true for boys and girls in Cameroon.
In 2008 we opened The Potters House Education Center, a Primary School, located in Buea, the capital of Cameroon’s Southwest Region. Within three short years enrollment has grown to 430 students, and many children could not be enrolled because there simply was no more classroom space.
We cannot allow bricks and boards to stand in the way of these children. But, in order to expand our school we need to be able to pay for its construction. Our goal is $50,000 so enrollment can be possibly doubled.
You can have a part in helping Trust and Obey Ministries reach that goal. On April 30, 2011 beginning at 10:00 AM we will host our first Cruisin’ for Cameroon Benefit Ride, starting from First Baptist Church Indian Trail, 732 Fairview Road Indian Trail, NC. All proceeds will benefit the expansion project of The Potters House Education Center. The event will include a Scenic Motorcycle Ride, Italian Food, Live Entertainment, Silent Auction and a Bike Judging Contest. The entry fee for the Ride is just $25.00 per bike. The first 125 to register will receive a free tee shirt. You don’t have to participate in the Benefit Ride to enjoy this event. Join us for the Silent Auction, Food and Entertainment. There’s fun for the whole family. Together, our families can help fight poverty through education and give families in Cameroon the hope of a better future. To learn more visit
