Heart disease and stroke are America’s leading causes of disability and death. According to the American Heart Association, diseases of the heart and cardiovascular system claim nearly one million lives per year—one life every 36 seconds. That’s more people annually than the next four most common causes of death combined.
Return to event list.People can walk as part of a company or organization team, or can register and walk as individuals. Each person receives a sponsor envelope prior to the walk and is encouraged to raise funds for the American Heart Association by asking friends, colleagues and neighbors to sponsor them.
