Charlotte School of Law Continues Assisting Victims of Beazer Homes’ Fraudulent Practices
Return to event list.Spanish Translators Available for October 29 Clinic Who: CharlotteLaw Public Interest Law Society, a student services organization at Charlotte School of Law. What: A free clinic to assist home buyers who were victims of fraudulent business practices acknowledged by Beazer Homes. CharlotteLaw students will work one-on-one with home buyers to determine their eligibility to receive restitution and review any necessary paperwork. Law students will provide instructions for filing claims against a $50 million restitution fund that Beazer agreed to pay under a deferred prosecution agreement. To-date, the pro bono outreach by CharlotteLaw students has helped more than 450 home buyers file nearly $3 million in claims; individual claims can range from $5,000 to $10,000.
