Event Description

In the wake of the Trayvon Martin case in Florida, how would a similar case be handled in North Carolina? The state does have deadly force laws on the books, known as the Castle Doctrine, and last December the law was expanded beyond a person's home. WFAE is hosting a panel discussion and community forum to address the intent, application and interpretation of "Stand Your Ground" laws. The conversation will focus on North Carolina law with regard to the use of defensive or deadly force by individuals. Free admission; reservations requested.
