The 5th Annual Brookhaven Family Run for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy will be held on Saturday, October 27th in the Brookhaven Subdivision in Matthews. The family-friendly event includes a 5K run/walk, 1-mile kids run, as well as a 40 and 100-yard kids' dashes. There will be plenty of things in store for runners and non-runners alike, including a Friday night registration event, a registration/pre-race breakfast, raffle prizes, food from The Meat House, and a Kid Zone featuring crafts, inflatables, face painting and more. The Brookhaven Fall Festival will begin immediately following the race. All proceeds will go towards researching a cure or effective treatment for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, the most common fatal genetic disorder among children.
