We are holding a fundraiser for our marketing assistant, Amber Barnett and her family at Applebee's by the Speedway. Amber is an important member of our team, and her positivity has inspired all of us-despite fighting an epic battle against brain cancer. Her fight has all but put her and her family into the wall financially, and though she'll never ask for it-we're giving back to someone that gives tremendously to our team on a daily basis. But we can't do it without you. We're kicking off the bash with a pancake breakfast served by Amber, her husband Jason, and their 4 children. You can purchase tickets from any of our staff or drivers in advance of the event (which is helpful for planning). Then we'll be posted up in the parking until Applebee’s kicks us out. We'll have a few sweet rides on display, and our drivers will be on hand to sign autographs and to help raffle off some wicked racing memorabilia including a signed Hoosier slick from Tex Blackwell's 2007 NOPI World Championship drag car. Raffle tickets are for sale in advance as well, or can be purchased that day. We'll also have live music provided by local favorite Brett Greer, Speed Energy drink for $1 per can, and early-purchase 2013 B.R.E. merchandise. There will be a few tables set up with different activities and vendors, Cancer Awareness ribbons and custom event t-shirts for sale, and a donation/non-monetary donation table (a “wish list” some family members snuck by her will be posted on the event via Facebook). Amber and Jason’s daughter Raine will be leading a “Free Kids Fun” booth with her “girls”. Kids can grab a snack and cold water and have their face painted with awareness ribbons and even get their hair painted, all free for kids! We're also hosting a "Cool Ride Competition", judged by Amber's 2 oldest sons Nicholas and Sabastian. Bring your whip and pay a $2 for a shot at a $50 VISA gift card.
Every single dollar raised will go directly to Amber and her family. Our hope is that all of our friends, family, fans and supporters can attend, but if you can't attend, if you can't give-please share the event and encourage others that CAN to join us. We want as many smiling faces and cool rides there as possible. Amber has the NEVER LIFT attitude in her blood, and is an important member of our team.
