Event Description

Historic Rosedale Plantation is participating in the annual Audubon Society Big Backyard Bird Count starting February 15, 2013. This three day event offers a unique once a year opportunity for individuals, book clubs, bridge clubs, church groups or schools for a unique field trip, Schools may use this to meet various science standards and individuals will be amazed at te numerous types of birds that frequent the gardens at Rosedale. Rosedale will provide tracking sheets and bird identification books as well as volunteers and staff to assist your group if necessary.
You may make your reservation online for the following dates and times:
Friday February 15th, 2013 at 10:15am until 11:45am or 1:15pm until 2:45pm
Saturday February 16th, 2013 at 1:15pm until 2:45pm
Sunday February 17th, 2013 at 1:15pm until 2:45pm
Reservations are $6.00 per person (students, adults and seniors). Any school field trip will include a segment on the herb garden, Big Tree Museum, and natural habitats at Rosedale. Each time slot is limited to 25 people unless special arrangements are made through our Education Department @ grouptours@historicrosedale.org.
Results tracked by all participants including students will be submitted to the National Audubon Society. In 2011 the study created the largest continental snapshot of bird populations ever recorded. Have your group participate in this green event at one of Charlotte's most pristine habitats that includes a Winter Garden, Big Tree Museum, and North Carolina Treasure Trees
