Have you ever imagined what 57 Million pennies would look like?
And why 57 Million pennies anyway? January 22, 2013 marks the 40 year anniversary of the Roe v. Wade legislation that legalized abortion in the United States. It is estimated that approximately 57 million babies have been terminated over these 40 years. Tiny Hands Ministries, Inc., a pro-life ministry based in Concord, NC has undertaken a mission outreach to educate and inform people of the magnitude of legalized abortion in the United States during the last 40 years. “In many ways people today view unborn human life the same way as a penny – worthless and without value. With nearly 3700 abortions performed daily in the US, these human lives are just tossed to ground like a worthless penny,” says Tiny Hands Ministries President Leanne Stevenson. “Over the last year we have encouraged people to think differently about pennies. Pennies from Heaven is a mission to collect pennies to create a visual memorial that illustrates the impact of legalized abortion in our country”, Stevenson adds. The ministry was able to collect a large quantity of pennies and they have designed and built the Pennies from Heaven Memorial, a mobile 20 foot structure that displays the pennies. This one of a kind memorial will be on display at Concord First Assembly Sunday January 20th from 9am – 8pm. We encourage the media to be a part of this unique opportunity.
