Event Description

Northeastern University–Charlotte invites you to join Michael D. Youth, Counsel & Policy Director for the NC Sustainable Energy Association, and Dr. Joan Fitzgerald, Interim Dean of the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs at Northeastern University, as they examine sustainable energy best practices and the regulatory environments that aid and hinder the paths to developing truly sustainable communities.

These experts will discuss sustainable energy policy at the local, state, and federal levels that impact how businesses and cities operate today and in the future.

The discussion comes on the heels of Northeastern being recognized for its commitment to sustainability on campus. The university was recently named the 4th “greenest” university among 215 institutions in 49 countries rated in the new Greenmetric World University Ranking compiled by the University of Indonesia. This marks the third year in a row that Northeastern has ranked among the top four universities in the world in this survey. It also marks the fourth year in a row that the university has received the highest score on the Princeton Review’s “Green Honor Roll,” which highlights excellence in campus sustainability.
