"The Art of Recovery", an event to feature artwork created by individuals who have been diagnosed with mental illness. Brief, interactive videos placed throughout hte exhibit will further educate attendees abou the stinma associated with mental illness, the power of art as an aspect of their recovery, and other mental helath related issues. The March 21st event will be hosted by the UNC Charlotte Department of Social Work, thanks to grant funding from the UNC Charlotte Chancellor’s Diversity Fund. Partners include Mental Health Association of Central Carolinas, Occasio, and PCP-Bridges. Art, the artists, live music, video stories of the therapeutic art process and a documentary screening will be featured.
