Edge on Demand: Future Tech Fail?

Turns out we're probably not going to have flying cars and hoverboards within two years, like "Back to the Future" said we would.  But this is the time of year we start looking ahead at new tech, as the Consumer Electronics Show starts tomorrow in Las Vegas.  It highlights things that we probably will see this year.  Althought Fox News just revealed their own list of things we probably won't: things like Google's wearable computer glasses, an Amazon smartphone, or an Apple TV set.  Of course, any of these things could exist right now.  They just haven't been actually released.  Which makes us wonder about the stuff you thought we'd have by 2013, now that we are in the future.  What life-saving invention are you still waiting on?
