Edge on the Clock - Get Rid of Voicemail?

There's a movement picking up on the web this week: a push to dump "thank you" texts and totally get rid of voicemails.  One opinion piece even says it's "rude" to leave a voicemail because you're wasting the person's time if they listen to it.  You could have just texted.  Do you agree?
