Man on the Edge - Big Brother's Watchful Eye
As investigators try to get to the bottom of the Boston Marathon bombing, they are tapping every resource available to try to catch whoever is responsible. And in the age of constant connectivity, those resources will be crowdsourced.
Not only were there multiple news outlets covering the marathon with both still and video cameras, but the spectators themselves were also covering the event with their personal cameras and cell phones. Surveillance cameras also captured significant video evidence. Which means that officials are tapping the power of the crowd, the media, and Big Brother himself to find answers in this case.
So in the wake of a tragedy like the Boston Marathon bombing, would you be more comfortable having Big Brother watching over you? Or is the cost to privacy just too high?
