Man on the Edge - Do Away with Daylight Saving?

Tools

by WCCB News Edge

If history and medical science are any indicator, most people won't feel "normal" from the Daylight Saving change until tomorrow.  It could even take until the weekend to fully recover.  It just takes time for your body to adjust, which means you've probably been getting up late or sleepy ever since Sunday.

Originally, the change was to help take advantage of daylight hours in the evening, and save power.  It got really big in the 70's during the energy crisis.  But it mucks up sleep patterns, it can mess up computers, and there are some states and cities in the US, not to mention in the rest of the world, that don't even use it.

So is "Springing Forward" and "Falling Back" an antiquated tradition?  Is it time for the world to scrap Daylight Saving Time?
