Man on the Edge - Kroger Taking Over
For 73 years, Harris Teeter has been more than just a neighborhood grocery chain in Charlotte. It's become part of our identity, our community, and our history. And now, some are concerned that legacy might actually become history.
Cincinnati-based "Kroger" has announced plans to buy Harris Teeter. It's a multi-billion dollar deal that both companies say is beneficial. At the moment, Kroger says it will keep the Teeter as a separate entity, and will even keep the headquarters here. But the two chains appeal to very different customers. They carry different brands, have different coupon deals, and they're just, well, different.
Of course, that's not always a bad thing, which is why our Man on the Edge set out to see what you want to see changed, and what you want to stay the same once Kroger takes over Harris Teeter.
