Man on the Edge - Young Celebrities and Off-Color Jokes

"Everyone else seems afraid to say it, but that Quvenzhane Wallis is kind of a c---, right?"

That's the "clean" version of the tweet that blew up bigger than the Oscars last night.  It was supposed to be a joke from the famously non-pc satire "news" outlet, The Onion.  The statement was intentionally ridiculous, because the Oscar-nominated star of "Beasts of the Southern Wild" is clearly so sweet.  But the Twitter-verse didn't think it was funny, and Twitter users raised so much backlash that the Onion removed the tweet after just an hour.

B why the outcry, when the Onion has never asked to be taken seriously?  Maybe she's too young, or maybe it's just too rough of a word.  But some might argue that criticism, jokes, and even off-color satire just come with the territory as part of being famous.  So are all celebrities fair game for jokes, regardless of their age?
