Time was, vampires were the most terrifying monsters on the silver screen.  Think Count Dracula or Nosferatu.  These blood-curdling semi-humans were designed to send you running behind the couch when you watched their movies, and leave you quivering in fear.  These days, the Edwards and Lestats of the modern age are quickly destroying the vampire's power to strike fear into the hearts of audiences.  Instead, their weapons are charm and romance as they seduce their heroines into living happily ever after as one of the undead.  So what do you think?  Is the best vampire a monster or a lover?  Robert Wilder hits uptown to get your take.
