For over 70 years, Superman has embodied the best of the American spirit: standing for truth, justice, and the American way.  And it was on this very day back in 1939 that the first comic titled "Superman" hit the shelves.  So our Super-Man on the Edge braved the mean streets of Charlotte to find out what makes Superman so endearing.
