HOLLYWOOD, CA - With Steven Spielberg at the helm, FOX's new epic dinosaur drama Terra Nova is one of TV's most talked about debuts.

"It's a big show, it's a good looking show and FOX really gave us the resources to make it happen," says Executive Producer Rene Echevarria.

While the executive producers wouldn't get into specifics of the cost, it's estimated to be between 10 and 20 million dollars for the first episode. A budget allowing them to really go big with the dinos.

"They're dinosaurs...They're not your grandaddy's dinosaurs. They're cool and different. In fact our dinosaur advisor is the world famous Jack Horner who worked with Steven Spielberg on the Jurrasic Park films," says Executive Producer Brannon Braga.

While much of the talk has centered around the dinosaurs from 85 million years in the past, "Terra Nova" also looks over 130 years into the future.

"It's pretty cool looking. The amalgam of the two is what makes the show have a unique feel to it which is these futuristic time travelers bringing their technology into an utterly prehistoric setting gives the show if nothing else just a look you've never seen," says Braga.

The "Terra" team knows the special effects are what drew viewers at first, but say the story is what will keep them coming back.

"Terra Nova" airs Monday nights at 8 on FOX CHARLOTTE.
