It looks like the Carolina Panthers are going to select Cam Newton with the first overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Several signs point to this theory.  Cam was in town this week meeting with the team - and sources tell us general manager Marty Hurney, in person, defends Newton as if he were already a Panther.

But, there's still one sticking point.  Apparently, team owner Jerry Richardson isn't completely sold on Newton; that's according to what a source with knowledge of the Panthers' draft plans told CBSSports.com

On a more surprising note, if the Panthers don't select Newton, they could pick Georgia wide receiver AJ Green.  However, for this to happen, the Panthers would trade down to take Green.

Bobcats Notes

The Charlotte Bobcats quest to make the playoffs has come to an end.
In part, because star player Stephen Jackson, who averages 18.5 points per game, missed the past few games.

"Jack" wouldn't say he'll shut it done for the rest of the season, but, it's become apparent the team has slowly shut down.

Now, it's your turn to "Sound Off"!
