CHARLOTTE, NC - Guess who could be returning to the Carolina Panthers?

Jake Delhomme

Head coach Ron Rivera has implied the team wants to bring in a veteran quarterback to mentor young guns Cam Newton and Jimmy Clausen.  Word has it, "that" veteran QB could be Delhomme.

Jake was cut by Carolina after a disappointing 2009 season.  He signed with the Cleveland Browns in 2010.  If Delhomme is able accept this role, his behind-the-scenes leadership could be key.

Remember, team owner Jerry Richardson loves Jake.  So, anything's possible.

Hard Knocks

It won't be a "hard knocks" season for the Panthers.

According to the Charlotte Observer, the team was contacted about appearing in the HBO series, Hard Knocks.  But, we hear the team is not interested.

Cam's Progress

Following two weeks of voluntary workouts, we now know more about Cam Newton as a pro quarterback - and the hurdles he still faces.

A recent article outlined Cam’s three big needs:

-First, Cam needs to earn respect from his teammates.

-Secondly, Newton needs to master reading his opponents’ defenses.

-Finally, he needs to catch the “Michael Vick" syndrome - to possess the ability to beat teams with his running, as well as passing aptitude.
