CHARLOTTE, NC - Charlotte Bobcats guard Stephen Jackson keeps getting tossed; but, somehow the 'Cats keep winning.

The NBA's leading trouble-maker, Jackson, has reached 13 technical fouls on the season (not including one that was later rescinded by the league).  This leaves him three shy of an automatic one-game suspension.

But, it's the entire Charlotte team that's getting a "Bad Boy" rep. Even, Eduardo Najera was recently quoted, after Kevin Garnett elbowed him in the face, as saying, “I just told him he hits like my grandma.”

Carolina Panthers

Panthers defensive end Charles Johnson had 11 1/2 sacks last season. But, there's no guarantee he'll be back in Carolina next season.

Johnson is a free agent who could test the waters. Other notable Carolina free-agents include Ryan Kalil and DeAngelo Williams.

But, don't expect DeAngelo to receive the "franchise tag."  Although D-W is a great back - these days running backs are a commodity; especially with Carolina's young stable - including Jonathan Stewart and Mike Goodson.

Reports from NBC sports say Kalil will likely receive the franchise tag. So, Johnson and Williams could get "transistion tags." Johnson's would likely be the most expensive.

So, who will the team target this off-season?

The new coaching staff hires suggest the team will look to use a pass-catching tight-end in 2011.  Expect Carolina to make a play for Houston Texans TE Owen Daniels or Jacksonville Jagaurs TE Marcedes Lewis.

Although the team had two Pro Bowl O-linemen, Carolina could make a play for another guard.  Expect the team to target Oakland left guard Robert Gallery.

Gallery is signed through 2014. However, the Oakland Tribune has confirmed the final years on his deal will be voided.  While he's 30 and has missed 14 games over the past two seasons due to injury, Gallery could be a Raider-bust with high-upside.  T
yler Brayton anyone?

UNC-Charlotte Football

Earlier this week, when questioned about the 49er football job, former NC State head coach Chuck Amato told the Charlotte Observer, "he'd love to be the guy there... it would be a real neat thing to do."

The 67-year old took the Wolfpack to five bowl games in seven seasons, and had a 49-37 record.

49er fans, would you consider Amato?
