CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Vilmarie Williams recorded video while staying at the Drury Inn and Suites earlier this month in the University area for a business trip. She woke up to 82 bug bites that covered her entire body. "The feeling that I have...you know...that they are in my hair, in my skin...I can't get that out of my head," said Williams.

The hotel's General Manager sent an email to Williams saying he found "evidence of bugs under the bed" in one of her rooms. The Mecklenburg County Health Department says the hotel took Williams
room out of service  for 13 days, hired a pest control company, treated the room, and inspected
all the rooms in the hotel. The Health Department says it has received no prior complaints about the Drury Inn. However, guests on Trip Advisor posted problems with Bed Bugs last August, and in
April 2010 at the same hotel.

"We take these situations very seriously. Unfortunately, bed bugs are a concern, not only for the hotel industry, but for hospitals, dorms, retail stores, movie theatres and other establishments,"
said Carolyn Feltner, Director of Marketing for Drury Hotels.

"You shouldn't have to worry about where you're laying your head...especially if you're paying for it," Williams said. Williams is now recovering from a massive amount of bug bites. She says she still plans to travel but it won't be easy. "Nobody should have to go through that...whether you're on vacation or on a business trip...you should not have any type of discomfort when you are away from home," Williams said.

The Health Department says you should check the mattress and headboard before sleeping at hotels. If you have a complaint in Mecklenburg County, you can call 311.
