"Family Finding" Program
Making a difference for a child in need.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - In the United States, over 400,000 children are living in Foster care- 9,000 of them are in North Carolina. Often times, when children are brought into Foster care, they lose all connection to their biological family members and other important people in their lives like teachers, friends, and coaches. To re-establish those connections, the Children's Home Society of North Carolina has launched a program called the "Family Finding Program." The program recently expanded to several additional counties in N.C. including Catawba county, thanks to a grant from the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation. The expansion allows more families to reconnect with their niece, nephew or grandchild in foster care.
