Thousands of Children Wish for a New Family for Christmas
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - With upward of 1,000 kids in foster care, there would be no better thing for one of these kids to get for Christmas than love from a forever family. Once a child reaches 18 and is no longer able to stay in foster care they find they are on their own. Not all children will have problems with being on their own, but a large number will have problems and could possibly end up on the street.
November has been National Adoption Month and families are encouraged to adopt one of these kids that are waiting for a home. Over 25 children were finalized for adoption last week, however, there are hundreds more that are looking for a forever family. Single parent families, same sex families, even older couples are all encouraged to look at adoption.
