Charlotte, N.C. -  Twenty-seven year old Shelly King began her journey in foster care when she was just eight years old. After moving from foster home to foster home, Shelly ended up aging out of foster care at the age of 18. It's a situation that happens to many kids in foster care.

Despite her circumtances, Shelly perservered. She graduated high school and college and went on to receive her masters degree. She has a great attitude and lots of friends. She says kind and caring foster parents helped shape her into the woman she is today.

She caught up with Fox News Rising Co-host Christine Noel and shared her story of living in foster care, and how she made the best of her situation.
