Israel Balderas co-anchors the Emmy-award winning FOX News @ Ten with Morgan Fogarty. Everyday, both of them go out and turn enterprising news stories from around the Charlotte Metro Area. Israel came to FOX Charlotte in September, 2010 as the FOX News Rising News Anchor. Prior to joining FNR, Israel was in Washington, D.C. covering politics on TV and the web. He's worked for several cable news networks, as well as international news organizations such as the Associated Press and Reuters Health Video Online.

Just a few years ago, he worked as a political journalist during the day while attending law school at night, producing for FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallance and the FOX News Channel. Israel received his Juris Doctor from Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. He's licensed to practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland. During the summer of 2010, he appeared on CNN International and CNN en Español as a legal analyst, discussing state laws that sought to enforce federal immigration policy.

During his time in Washington, D.C. he's also covered important national stories, including the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky scandal; the 2000 Presidential race and the Supreme Court challenge that followed; and the 9/11 attacks. In fact, he spent that day at the Pentagon, being one of a handful of journalists allowed into the building that night to see the attacks from the inside.

It seems Israel loves the FOX family, since he most recently worked as a morning weekday anchor/investigative reporter for the FOX affiliate in El Paso, TX. During this time, the drug cartel murder spree across the border town of Juarez, MX and the immigration debate grabbed national headlines. He also traveled to Washington, D.C. to cover Pope Benedict XVI's first visit to the United States in 2008.

Israel's wife, Jill Braden Balderas, also works in the news business, as a freelance journalist covering health news in the Carolinas. They're both excited to be living in the South, since Jill grew up in Atlanta, Georgia.
