CHARLOTTE, NC -- Police have made an arrest in the south Charlotte shooting that sent one man to a local hospital. Ryan Hopkins was taken into custody on Tuesday morning around 11:30 a.m. According to authorities, officers responded to a home on Burkland Drive in regards to a male suffering from a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, Torey Williams was transported to Carolina's Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
Ryan Hopkins is currently in custody at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office and has been charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill and Inflict Serious Injury with a gun and Possession of a Firearm by Felon.
