Arrest Made in Shelby Double Shooting
A Shelby teen is behind bars for allegedly shooting two people.
The Shelby Police Department responded to the 400 block of Orange Street in regards to a shooting late Tuesday night.
Police found Rondrekous Stroud, 20, behind a resident with multiple gunshot wounds to his head and leg. As of 8:45 Wednesday morning, Stroud was in stable condition.
Officers also found Dontavis Pressley, 16, who had been shot in the knee. He was treated and released from Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
The suspect in the double shooting was identified as Deandre Benjamin, 18. Benjamin is charged with Assault with A Deadly Weapon, Assault with A Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, and Possession of Stolen Firearm. He is being held in the Cleveland County Detention Center under a $250,000.00 secure bond.
