LINCOLNTON, NC – Twenty-six people have been arrested as of Wednesday as part of “Operation Rolling 50”, a multi-agency drug roundup in Lincoln County that started at 6:00 a.m.
The round-up is being coordinated by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and is the culmination of a more than six months long undercover operation.
Investigators secured more than 90 true bills of indictment on 50 street level dealers in and around Lincoln County.
The Wednesday drug round up is part of undercover investigations that began in December after Sheriff David Carpenter was sworn into office.
Officers from a number of area law enforcement agencies fanned out across Lincoln County to serve the Orders For Arrest based on the Grand Jury indictments. Officers are continuing to actively search for the other suspects.
Agencies assisting the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office were Catawba and Iredell County Sheriff’s officers and Lincolnton, Newton, Maiden, Gastonia, Hickory and Gaston County Police Departments.
The Drug Enforcement Agency and U S Customs also helped with the investigation.
