CMPD Gets $600K for New Equipment and TrainingCHARLOTTE, N.C.--CMPD received an additional $600,000 from city council for equipment as well as helicopter service and training. The money comes from the police operating budget. The SWAT team will get new tactical vests. Police helicopter maintenance and training will be provided by a private company, Bell Helicopter Textron. Police helicopter training includes performing emergency procedures and night vision operations. |
