CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Crime is on the rise in Charlotte following three years of double digit declines.

New stats from CMPD show violent crime jumped 23% the first three months of the year.

Twelve people were killed compared to six between January and March of last year.  That's a 100% increase.

Property crimes, robberies and rapes were also up.
