Mother Sentenced For Allowing Man To Commit Sex Act On 12-Year-Old DaughterSHELBY, N.C.--A woman admitted in court that she allowed a man to perform a sex act on her 12-year-old daughter. Shayla Roberts pleaded guilty to felony child abuse in Cleveland County. The DA's Office says she was sentenced to 90 days in jail, two and a half years of probation and she must register as a sex offender for 30 years. Officials say Roberts knew about the crime but never reported it to police. She told the judge she may have been too impaired to realize what was happening. |
