Motorcyclist Struck By SUV DiesCHARLOTTE -- A Stanly man is dead after being struck by an SUV Friday morning. The crash occurred at the intersection of Mt,. Holly-Huntersville Road and Overlook Mountain Drive between a motorcycle and a SUV at 6:42 a.m. Willis Hill, 55, of Stanly, NC, 2006 Yamaha motorcycle, traveling east on Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road as the SUV turned left from Overlook Mountain Drive onto eastbound Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road. The SUV turned across the path of the motorcycle and the motorcycle struck the right side of the SUV. Mr. Hill was knocked over off the motorcycle as a result of the impact. He was transported to CMC-Main, where he died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash. The CMPD Major Crash Investigation Unit responded to the scene and is conducting the investigation. The driver of the SUV, 16-year old, Meredith McSwain, was arrested and charged with Misdemeanor Death by Motor Vehicle. The family of the victim has been notified of the death.
