CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police responded to an attempted robbery in West Charlotte Wednesday that left one injured and two suspects in custody.

A man suffered life threatening injuries from a gunshot wound Wednesday afternoon after two men tried to rob him on West Boulevard. Fox Charlotte spoke with workers at a nearby liquor store, who said they did not hear any gunshots and that this is out of the ordinary for the area.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation and have not yet released any details.

The victim was transported to CMC-Main by Medic.
