Police Arrest Arson Suspect in NW Charlotte House Fire
by FOX Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- CMPD Detectives have charged a woman for her involvement in an arson case where one Northwest Charlotte home was set on fire.

North Division patrol officers were dispatched to 3622 Kiley Lane in reference to a call for service in assisting the Charlotte Fire Department with a house fire. A witness called 911 when they saw a suspicious person and a fire at their neighbor's house.

The neighbor awakened the residents inside the house to let them know the house was on fire. That's when the resident noticed the known suspect, 33-year old Miguelina Rosaldo-Garcia, outside.

Charlotte Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire with minimal damage to the home.

The victim and witness were able to provide a detailed description of the suspect to the officers on scene and located Rosaldo-Garcia at her residence. Detectives from CMPD's Arson Unit and CFD Investigators obtained warrants against Rosaldo-Garcia for first degree arson and malicious damage by use of an incendiary. She was arrested Monday and transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s office where she remains in custody.

Anyone with additional information with regard to this case and or these individuals is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. Please reference CMPD complaint number 2013-0114-0134-01.
